Langano is located 223km south east of Addis Ababa. It is a particular and the only bilharzias free lake in Ethiopia. Langano is a nicest place to have a sunbathing and water side entertainment around the lake. Abyata and Shalla are a neighboring lakes situated in the near by lake Langano. The lakes are important sanctuary for variety of birds specious. Some of the birds in these lakes include Greater and lesser flamingo, Herons, Cormorants, Ibises and many other migratory birds.
